Foreign Minister Soini visits Turkey

Minister for Foreign Affairs Timo Soini will visit Ankara on 10–12 January. Foreign Minister Soini will hold a speech at the Turkish Foreign Ministry’s Annual Ambassadors Conference on 11 January. This is the first time that a Finnish minister for foreign affairs has been invited to speak at the Turkish Ambassadors Conference.

Minister Soini will also meet Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and Turkish state leadership.

The topics of discussions during the visit will include the bilateral relations between Finland and Turkey, Turkey's domestic situation, terrorism, the relations between the European Union and Turkey, Syria, the reunification negotiations of Cyprus, and topical regional questions.

The Minister will also have meetings with opposition and civil society representatives.
