
Improving Research Capacity of Forest Resource Information Technology (IRCFRIT) in Vietnam and Nepal is executed by Forest Research Institute (Finland), Department of Forest Research and Survey of Ministry of Forests and Soil Conservation (Nepal), Tribhuvan University’s Institute of Forestry (Nepal), Kathmandu Forest College (Nepal), Forest Inventory and Planning Institute (Vietnam) and Forestry University of Vietnam. The objective of the cooperation is to strengthen the capacity of Nepal and Vietnam to reduce emissions from deforestation and forest degradation. It is funded by ICI funds and implemented in 2010–2012.
Finnish-Nepalese Project for Improved Capability of the Government of Nepal to respond to the increased risks related to weather related natural disasters caused by climate change (FNEP) is a project that introduces new technologies and data management systems to Nepal in order to minimize the damages caused by climate change. FNEP is executed between the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology of Ministry of Environment, and the Finnish Meteorological Institute (Ilmatieteenlaitos). It is funded by ICI funds and implemented in 2010–2013.
